ORIGINAL TV FOOTAGE aired by WGN. In 1972 WGN aired a special called “Destination Stanley Cup” as the Blackhawks headed into the 72′ playoffs. As part of that special, they rolled high quality broadcast highlights of the 1971 playoffs. The Hawks battled the NY Rangers to 7 games with 3 going to OT. This was Game 5, Bobby Hull scores the winner in OT off the draw in front of Ed Giacomin…Pandemonium at Chicago Stadium. If WGN made this special, they just might have the ful game footage from the 71 playoffs, including Game 7 vs. Montreal. I’ll keep doing research until I find those games!!

(View in 480p for best picture and sound quality) A look back at some of the best moments of the Chicago Blackhawks’ 2009-2010 season and the grand finale…The Stanley Cup Championship, where they defeated the Philadelphia Flyers in six games to bring home the hardware for the first time in 49 years. I do not own this video. It belongs to nhl.com. Here are the highlights from game seven of the 2010 to 2011 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Finals. The Vancouver Canucks lost to the Boston Bruins, 4-0, thanks to fantastic, fast offensive strategies. Tim Thomas also shined in this game, with some great saves as the Bruins win the Stanley Cup. Game in a flash. June 15, 2011, hockeychapals.

On May 17, 1983, the word “Dynasty” was engraved in the minds of those who knew anything about NHL hockey. And it was the New York Islanders’ dynasty that had won its’ fourth straight Stanley Cup on that day. The men from Long Island defeated the Edmonton Oilers in four games. Of course, Edmonton got the last laugh the following year when they defeated the Islanders in the Finals. Bob Cole on play by play here for Hockey Night In Canada on CBC. When they play ‘Journey – Don’t Stop Believin’ at the Joe in the ‘D’, the Red Wings Fans go nuts! Especially the part, “Just a City Boy… Born and Raised in Sooouth Deeetroooit!”

5 in 7! even as a Canucks fan I to salute the Edmonton Oilers! Flames Suck! PS I’m related to Glen Sather.
