wow we made a top ten team look like an easy season opener
Barry Sanders would have looked nice in a Husker uniform!
man these were the days. osborne always had a good team every year he coached
AMEN!!!!! You could be a great scout. His run at 4:20 under heavy duress stands out in my mind as a human eighth wonder of the world. Having played against opponents physically superior I know how difficult it is to be successful against the odds. When Barry did this I hoped the Bronco’s drafted him because my team had no running game at the time. I knew he was the best runner i ever saw college or pro.
you put steve taylor in the current offense and oh boy does he put stats up.
The game wasn’t nationally televised in 1988, but I do remember CBS Sports breaking into their game to say that Nebraska had already amassed over 200 yards in the first quarter, and I think both teams had over 1,000 yards by the end of the game. Steve Taylor was awesome.
Thank you for posting this I never saw this game or the high lights
This was waaaaaay before Mike Gundy was a man and 40.
504 first half rushing yards
The guy doing commentary is the voice of the Sooners, Bob Barry, when he was at OSWHO? But he’s at OU now, so ha!
I was at this game as well (a long time NU fan). As dominating as Nebraska was, this was the game where I became a “believer” in the amazing Barry Sanders!
I was at this game. It was like a track meet.
