Great video. Justin, can you speak to toe touch and heel drop. Why is toe touch needed…is it OK to just stride and land on the heel of your stride foot??

    really good high level instruction

I agree, most kids hands drop and then they have a loopy no power swing

  5. hlfinally says:

Most kids I see take their hands too far back and drag the bat through the zone, meaning their back elbow actually gets in front of their hands. The baseball bat needs to be pushed, not pulled.

My son has the opposite problem. His hads go too far back. He grips it too hard with his top hand and his back arm folds back like he lost at armwrestling. this causes him to bar his front arm and now all he can do is hit to right field. I’m trying to teach him to keep his hands by his ear by keeping his lead arm attached to his body, relax his top hand, swing straight off his shoulder, turn his back foot in to prevent over rotation, and try to swing around his neck by squating.
